By now I'm sure you've seen Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech from the Teen Choice Awards. If not, check it out here:
Let's be real, saying that he thinks opportunity comes from hard work is so important. It's so important to express that to children and that's one thing I try to stress to my students all the time.
But when he speaks about the third thing he learned, about building a life, I got a little chocked up. I have always done things a little differently. I've found that people expect you to live your life a certain way, and sometimes don't understand if you veer off the "normal" path. While there are times I get frustrated with life and feel stagnant (my current emotional state), I think it is so important to do what makes YOU happy and not what fits the bill for that time period. I have always followed my heart and after listening to Ashton's speech, it really resonated with me that maybe there are some changes that I need to make to ensure that I continue building my life so that I can be the best I possibly can be for DG and me.
Hope you have a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!
xoxo
