The Blog Baton Recap

On Monday, I held the Blog Baton for the day.  I was a little nervous because I knew that Monday would be a pretty boring day for me since I had to work and had a things to do list a mile long before Thanksgiving break, but it was surprisingly fun.  Here's what an average day looks like for me.

1. I'm going to preface that I never take pictures of myself, so this picture took about 10 different tries and recommendations from three really good friends.  I decided to take a picture in front of some of my social studies themed posters.

2.  It is pretty rare that I wake up early enough to stop and grab a cup of coffee or something for breakfast just because of how early I have to be at work (6:50AM), but I did Monday!  I stopped at Bruegger's and got an asiago parmesan bagel with light herb garlic cream cheese (for real, it's so good).  I also got a cup of pumpkin spice coffee, but by the time I was able to sit down and take a picture of my breakfast, it was after 2nd period and I had downed the coffee about two hours before.

3. I had a late day at work administering make-up assessments.  I stopped at the Post Office on my way home to grab some stamps so I could mail out our Save the Dates on Tuesday, and the darn post office was closed by the time I got there.  So I rushed home to get to Winston.  He is so super fluffy, so he loves cooler weather!  It took approximately 15 tries before I could get a picture of him before he popped up and started running around like something crazy again.

4.  My general rule of thumb is not to drink coffee after 6:00PM because I can't sleep at night, but I couldn't seem to shake a headache I had or a chill that I had from the weather.  So, I had a cup of coffee while grading some assignments.  Sadly, I did not make much of a dent in that stack, but I did finish all of that grading Tuesday!  P.S. those pens are my favorite.

5. After grading assignments, I finished addressing the last few Save the Dates, and double checked all the writing.  I have really enjoyed my Southern Living Wedding Planner.  It came in really handy when figuring out how to address certain types of envelopes.  I switched from coffee to champagne since Monday was technically my Thursday, and I always have a glass of champagne on Thursdays.

6. After I finished the Save the Dates (finally!), I painted my nails with Essie's Shearling Darling polish.

So, that was a fairly typical day for me.  I wish it had been more exciting, but ya know.  I did snap a picture of my outfit, but you know that isn't my strong point either.  That outfit made Monday/Thursday so much easier to get through.

Be sure to follow @theblogbaton on Instagram!  It's so fun to follow along with bloggers throughout their day.  Hats off to Mason for creating the concept.  Today, I'm holding the RDU Baton (@rdubaton), and will be posting about some of my favorite places in Raleigh/Holly Springs/Apex/Cary.  Be sure to check it out!
