Weekend

This past weekend went by so insanely fast that I feel like I'm in a whirlwind.  DG and I got so much accomplished, but we haven't bought a single Christmas present yet.  Oops.

We bought our Christmas tree from the local farm in Holly Springs.  They're really nice people and they really care about their products.  The tree I picked had a split in the trunk, and they had us pick out another one instead of risking that one drying out too early.

Check out their view of the cow pasture.

Saturday, DG and I decorated the outside of the house for Christmas.  Winston really loves being outside with us, so he supervised our decorating.

Here's a little preview.  I will be posting about the Christmas decorations next week for my Suburb Sunday post, so stay tuned!

DG and I went out to dinner on Saturday night to Apex Wings which is one of our favorite places to eat.   Last year when we got engaged, this was where we went to celebrate.  Their hot wings and potato wedges are the best I've had.

The pictures below are previews of our Christmas decorating as well.  Winston got a baby tree this year.  I wish I was kidding.  I'm expecting to lose followers after this post, but ya know.  In all honesty, DG just really liked the tree and I wanted a tree in the bedroom, so I said it was Winston's.  Whatever.

Last year, I had a friend make me burlap bows.  I'm obsessed.

This was before the mantle was completed.  Of course Winston photo bombed my attempt at catching the mantle.

While out running errands, I forced DG to take me to brunch.  It's because I woke up and ran and worked out this morning and I was starving.  And I'm glad I worked out because I don't feel any guilt for the calories I consumed.  Those are chicken biscuits with sausage gravy, cheddar cheese, and bacon.  It really is as good as it looks.  If you're local, check out Bass Lake Drafthouse for their brunch.

We spent the rest of the day decorating both inside and outside.  Here's a sneak peak:

I saw this Runner's World Holiday Running Streak challenge on Facebook Friday and I decided to do it.  I started yesterday and ran 1.75 miles (I had an appointment, so I had to get in as much as I could), and I was pleased with my time.  So, I'm looking forward to challenging myself.  Hold me accountable, y'all!  I also did the 7 Minute Workout using the app on my phone.  It was a really great work out and I hope to kick it up a notch since I'm now 6 months away from the wedding (EK)!

How was your weekend?

Did you decorate for Christmas?

Hope you have a great week!  Can you believe it's already December?
