Foodie Friday: The Little Dipper

A few Sundays ago, DG and I had dinner at The Little Dipper in Durham for our friend (who's marrying us!) MP's birthday.  I've never been to a fondue restaurant, so I was a little nervous about the etiquette of the experience.  I was also concerned about DG's reaction because as I've mentioned on here countless times, he is SO picky.  But we both had a great time and it was delicious.

Our appetizer started out with an assortment of fruit, veggies, and bread.  Our two cheeses were the Switzerland Original Fondue and the Cheddar Ale Fondue with Guiness.  The cheddar ale fondue was out of this world good.

The meal also comes with a caesar salad.  One of the great things I found out about fondue restaurants, is you get plenty of time in between meals to digest, but I was still stuffed.

For my entree, I picked the chicken trio, which is just plain, blackened, and teriyaki chicken.

The blackened was definitely my favorite.  It came with three sauces, but I can't remember which ones I ordered.  I just asked for recommendations and chose from there.

The kind staff at the Little Dipper got MP a nice little birthday surprise.

And here's MP with my buddy KP!

KP did a great job planning out a nice dinner with friends for him!  Fondue was definitely a fun experience and I highly recommend the Little Dipper.  Great service and a fun atmosphere.  It's also in Brightleaf Square in Durham which is such an adorable location.

Hope you have a great weekend!
xoxo!
