This past weekend, my future in-laws came to visit for my bridal shower. The snow break that we got last week came at a perfect time because I was able to do some updates to the guest bedroom.
This room is one of my favorite rooms in the house. It gets a lot of natural sunlight, so I wanted something that would play off of the light. I picked this bright orange and freshened up the trim with white.
I ordered some new throw pillows for the guest bedroom and master bedroom, and sadly they didn't arrive in time. DG painted me the Ocracoke painting above the bed in our first couple of months of dating. The end tables need to go, but I haven't quite found what I'm looking for. I'm thinking maybe two garden stools in aqua, but I can't bring myself to pull the trigger.
My soul mate Andrea gifted me this great
galvanized tray for my bridal shower. I got it a little early and decied to put it to good use for my inlaws.
I apologize for the wonky shadows on this picture, but DG built this awesome bench to help maximize space in the room. Sadly, it's a pretty small bedroom and so leaving suitcases on the floor open would make it impossible to move around. So, he built the bench with space on the bottom for baskets that small items could be put in and then space on the top to unpack and store things. He was given a couple of extra doors by a friend who was moving and cleaning out his garage, so DG attached the half door the wall, and added to hangers for coats, etc. I love the way it turned out. It maybe took him two hours to put together.
Hope you have had a great weekend! Stop back by tomorrow to see my weekend recap and more details about my bridal shower!
xoxo,
