Suburb Sunday: Snowed In

Tuesday night, the area I live in got about 4 inches of snow.  DG is from Buffalo, so a lot of his friends and family laughed when they saw the amount of snow that the area got.  But 4 inches is the most we've had in a couple of years.  I love the way snow looks, but I really get stir crazy after a while because it shuts everything down.

The South isn't accustomed to this kind of weather.  We have snow equipment, but the temperatures during the day get warm enough to melt and then the temperatures drop so cold at night that it refreezes.  The county is so large that a lot of the secondary roads weren't really safe after a couple of days either.  However, students missed 4 days of school, so we have to make those days up on teacher work days.

Here are a few pictures I snapped of the house and of course Winston playing in the snow.

This is my gardening area.  I love this little area so much in the warm weather because I grow vegetables and herbs in those beds.  DG rebuilt the path for me a couple of summers ago.

This guy loved the snow.  He would take off running and then dive into it face first.  DG would throw snow balls in the area and he would try to catch them and bring them back.

In other news, I am itching for an update in the house.  I always feel the easiest way to update is by switching out some accessories.  I'm loving these pillows from one of my favorite Etsy shops.  I love the navy and neutral for the master bedroom and the beach themed pillow for the guest bedroom.  I was gifted a ton of beach themed items when I graduated from college, so I put all of those things in the guest bedroom.  I feel that pillow would be great  (Modernality2 is having a 10% off winter sale with the code "WINTER10" until 2/6)!

I also love this runner from Lulu & Georgia for the hallway.  I'm still searching for one, but this one has been in the lead for a while, so I may just have to pull the trigger.

Did you have any snow this past week?

What updates are you thinking about doing to your space?

Have a great Sunday!
