Shopping My Closet & Classic Pieces

It's almost back to school time and time for me to start thinking about wearing real clothes again.  What that really means is that I'm excited for shopping for teacher-appropriate attire.  I try to pick pieces that I can wear both to work and on the weekends, and try to find bags and shoes that I can wear use both professionally and personally.

First things first, I ordered this awesome Cuyana tote to carry my laptop, lesson plan book, gradebook, planner, and student assignments.

I go to Pinterest a lot to help shop my closet.  I try to find pieces that I already have to figure out how to mix them approriately and transition the pieces through various seasons.  Take these three outfits:

I have similar pieces in my closet, so I just try to recreate and mix and match based off of those ideas.  Otherwise, I get stuck in a routine and get bored with my clothes.

And below are my current picks.  I do a lot of my professional shopping at J. Crew Factory and I buy their pieces in various colors.  I own the four pieces below in different colors/prints and swear by them!

J. Crew Factory Pencil Skirt

J. Crew Factory Printed Drape Shirt

J. Crew Factory Winnie Pants

J. Crew Factory Textured Charley Sweater

And my favorite shoes to teach in are Tory Burch Revas!  So comfortable!

Tory Burch Reva Ballet Flats

What are some of your favorite items to wear to work?

P.S. Hop over to Owen's blog to see her take on this.  It's definitely on point!
