Tuesday Toast: Sasha Fierce

This may get a little sappy, but hey, it's a thankful post.  Yesterday, I was on my way to work and my low tire pressure light was on.  It comes on when the temperature dramatically drops, but it had been on since Sunday and I was a little worried.

As I was driving, two different men had me roll down my window to tell me my tire was going flat.  DG told me Sunday on the way back from the fair and he forgot, so I was a little panicky since I was driving by myself and knew DG wouldn't be able to answer the phone if something went down.

I stopped at the closest gas station and was able to check the tire pressure in my car and add air to my tires.  I started thinking about it when I got to work how lucky I was that I knew what to do and how to do it.  I have a tire pressure gauge in my car and I actually know what to do with it.  I owe all that to my dad.  When I was younger, he used to make me check things myself: check the oil in my car, check the tire pressure, add air to the tires, attach jumper cables, etc.  I know it seems small, but it potentially saved me a road hazard.

I called my dad after school to thank him for teaching me that when I was in high school.  I also told him that I was appreciative because I've been out with my girlfriends and had to jump one of their cars.  None of them knew how to do it but me.  These things are super handy and I definitely owe it to him.

Also, it makes me feel all Sasha Fierce.

What are you thankful for today?

xoxo,
