Good morning, y'all! I'm so excited to recap my weekend with you. It was filled with lots of fun, girlie things which is just what I needed.
Friday night, my buddy KP and I went out to celebrate Christmas. We decided this year to not give each other gifts and instead to spend a night together without husbands or dogs. Now that we don't work in the classroom beside each other, we literally have to write down things we don't want to forget to tell each other. It made for a fun night of catching up and just relaxing together in downtown Raleigh.
For dinner, we went to the raved about Jose and Sons in Raleigh's warehouse district, and the rave reviews were spot on. Jose and Sons is a Mexican meets Southern restaurant and it is so uniquely decorated and the food is seriously amazing.
Every review I read recommended the homemade guacamole and OMG, I understand why.
We also ordered pimiento cheese tostones.
We each ordered flautas and I got the gouda mac & cheese and grilled corn.
We went to
Crank Arm Brewery for a drink afterwards and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Saturday was a mock trial competition with some students from my former school. They did a great job and I was really happy to see them.
Sunday, I met up with some local Raleigh bloggers and my friend Mo for a Valentine's brunch with the Raleigh Blog Society.
I made strawberry parfaits and finally remembered to use my Kitchenaid mixer to make honey and cinnamon Greek yogurt.
We had a beautiful spread for our brunch! Including calligraphy and confetti from All She Wrote Notes.

Stay tuned this week for a detailed post on our Valentine's brunch.
It was 73 degrees today in North Carolina so I decided to go for a run before the cold and rain sets in this week. I took a different route today and did some trail running and it was seriously gorgeous.
And no weekend is complete without some time with my boy.
Disregard my high maintenance husband's fire kit in the background. :)
Now it's your turn to tell
Biana and me about your weekend! Just remember to use our button and link back to our blogs.
