Happy Monday, y'all. I'm trying to be optimistic this morning, but I'm just a tad disappointed since today should have been the start of our spring break. Oh well, right? It will make Thursday and Friday that much sweeter!
Friday, I went and met some of my co-workers from my former school for happy hour. It was so great to see them to catch up. If I had to pin down one thing I miss from my previous school, it would be them. I love my new job and I love what I'm doing, but I have some darn good friends from my last job.
I debuted my new New Balance for J.Crew tennies. Everyone was shocked I wore tennies with jeans, but I made an exception with gold ones.
Friday night, DG and I tried out Rey's, a new to us restaurant in Cary. It's fine dining and there was a Cajun flare. We definitely shouldn't have snacked before we went because there were so much goodness on the menu.
DG got the French Quarter chicken, which was stuffed with herb cheese and had a lemon butter sauce. I ordered the blackened tuna which was delicious. We split garlic mashed potatoes. We were definitely impressed and will be heading back again.
Saturday morning, I headed in to work. It started out pretty gray, but it turned into a beautiful day. When spring comes, I go hard with the spring/summer clothes. Case in point: white jeans. My grandmother will be so disappointed in me, but I couldn't help it. Disregard my outtake, but I had a blast taking pictures with my girl, Alicia.
DG headed out of town for work Saturday night, but we did get to grab dinner first. We went to My Way and I tried their black bean burger. It was delicious and I was even more excited because it was full of fresh veggies. It's another reason why I'm so excited for spring.
I also racked up some great goodies this weekend, too! I stocked up on some new Rifle Paper Co. goodies from Stylish Living. I also got some fun shirts from Southern Magnolia Shirt Co. and a new cell phone case from my gorgeous friend, Claire at Fashion and Feathers!
