I'm back after a fun-filled weekend with old and new friends! We went to Fort Myers, Florida to celebrate my friend Mary's bachelorette party. It was a joint shower with her matron of honor who is getting married in just a few weeks, so it was a blast to meet new girls and celebrate both of the brides-to-be.
I had a really early flight Friday morning, but loved seeing the sun rise on the plane.
We stayed at
Diamondhead Resort on Fort Myers Beach which had great beach access. I definitely recommend it since it is beach front. I loved the atmosphere on the island because it's definitely low-key and low maintenance.
We had some great meals while we were down there.
Nemo's on the Beach is where we had lunch on Saturday. Great beach restaurant with an even better selection of food. I ordered a blackened Mahi sandwich with house made chips and it was so delicious. We had dinner one night at
Mr. Tequila and it was the best Mexican food I've had. My hands down favorite meal was breakfast. One of the girls discovered
Tuckaway Cafe, and they make their own bagels. I had the Green Peace on a spinach bagel--which came with cream cheese, provolone, sprouts, tomato, avocado and holy cow. I also loved their smoothies. We loved this place so much we ate here twice.
Since it was a joint bachelorette, Saturday was Mary's night out and I loved her dress from Rent the Runaway.
And while I was away, DG took care of the boys, with the help of my buddy KP. DG has a lot going on with the end of school and soccer, and some exciting news on the horizon. Winston is loving having little Gizmo around and they are really getting along well. Gizmo has made some big progress since we brought him home. I'll give you a post about his story soon so you can understand what I'm talking about. But the middle picture was snapped by my buddy KP, which was huge because he wasn't spazzing out at a new person. DG took him to a puppy socialization class and he loved it. So he starts puppy kindergarten in a week.
How was your Memorial Day weekend?
Hope you had a great one and an even better short week!
