Recently, I've been vaguely writing about my passions on my blog. My desire to follow to my passions feels like a long time coming for me, but I'm not sure it matches up to my blog name. My blog was started as a creative outlet for me from my real life for about my other interests. I have always loved fashion, nail polish, and jewelry, but my blog has helped me branch out into home design and DIY projects.
But, that's not all there is to me and to what I care about. I am passionate about social justice and equal rights. I am also a huge proponent of public education and access to it. I spend most of my time talking with my friends about how that relates to my real life and my blog life. It's a difficult transition here. I mean, I like nail polish and talking about the actual causes of the Civil War. I like pom poms and burlap and cotton, but I also like discussing and helping to implement strategies to better educate students and how to get students out of poverty.
When I started writing this blog, I never intended for my professional passions to enter into this blog. But sometimes, I feel like I'm not myself, because I'm not writing about some more serious concepts that are so relevant to my life. So I've been tossing around the idea of changing my blog title to something little more... timeless, for lack of a better word.
I'm turning the comments off on this post, but I just wanted to put into perspective where my head is at these days. Feel free to e-mail me your thoughts (champagneandsuburbs@gmail.com).
Hope you're having a great Tuesday!
