Cooking with Terra's Kitchen

My honest review of Terra's Kitchen, a farm-to-table meal kit delivery service that puts an emphasis on being eco-friendly.

When Terra's Kitchen reached out to me about trying their service, I jumped at the opportunity.  Unlike other meal delivery services, I found multiple recipes that my picky husband would eat, and I was really impressed with the vessel the ingredients came in.

This was scheduled to be delivered by 8:00PM, but it was on my stoop when I got home from work around 3:00PM.

This vessel is no joke; it is sturdy, with handles and locks.  The drawers are packed with reuseable ice packs that are used for climate-control.  And as soon as I was done unpacking, I set it out on the stoop for the delivery truck to come pick up the next day.  I love how eco-friendly this vessel is by creating 0% waste, instead of recycling a lot of cardboard.

The recipe cards are numbered, and so are all the ingredients, which makes it really easy to match up the two.

(Sorry for the coloring of this image... the lighting in my kitchen and week long rain made this possible)

I really liked the wine and beer pairings that are included on the recipe cards.  I also really like the Table Talk topics.  DG and I were able to switch up our conversations a little bit from our normal dinner time talk.

One thing I really enjoyed about Terra's Kitchen is that the meals truly take 30 minutes or less to make.  The meals are pre-prepared which makes it so much easier in the evenings.  And this truly means 30 minutes or less.

We loved the unique recipes we received, like the chicken tenders with goat cheese balls.  Yum!  It's obvious that Libbie Summers, Head of Culinary Direction at Terra's Kitchen and esteemed cookbook author, expertly combines high-quality ingredients for healthy meals, with options for omnivore, gluten-free, paleo and vegetarian preferences.

Terra's Kitchen uses highest quality food sources that are derived naturally and directly from la terra (the Earth). The recipes are plant strong, nutrient dense, and never use artificial or processed ingredients.

Here are the recipes we received

Tender Chicken, Sweet & Spicy Dressed Greens, + Cheese Pom-Poms:  I picked this meal because DG loves grilled chicken.  If I keep the meal with a part that he is comfortable with, I can then get him to be a little more adventurous, like with the goat cheese balls.  The arugula salad was delicious with the sweet and spicy dressy.  I used all the jalapenos provided and it was perfect.

Mojo Tacos:  So, I don't usually eat red meat, but I also have never cooked skirt steak before.  So, I decided to try it with these step by step instructions, and DG and I both LOVED this meal.  The steak was so good and the seasoning was really delicious.  The instructions said to really char the tortillas for flavor, and I think I took it a little too far.  Oops?  They were still good, but I ate mine more like nachos.

Date Night Dinner:  Okay, so again, we don't usually eat red meat, but DG hadn't grilled a steak on our grill at home, so we decided to try it out.  It was delicious with the mushrooms and potatoes.

I cannot say enough good things about Terra's Kitchen.  We'll definitely be using Terra's Kitchen again for more awesome recipes this summer.  You can give Terra's Kitchen a try now and save $50 off your first order!  Use code SUBURB50.
