With ALB's wedding right around the corner, and mine about 10 months away, I've been reliving the weddings I've been in over the past few years. Check out my recap below!
I was the maid of honor in my best friend from childhood's wedding in June 2010. She is my oldest friend; dating back to when I was 5 months old at her first birthday party. You will come to recognize her as Cornbread on my blog because when we were younger, my dad used to call me Porkchop and her Cornbread. So, it stuck. Anyway, She got married in the church we grew up in and it was beautiful.
She asked us to be in her wedding by having these custom painted wine glasses to ask each of us. We brought them on the day of her wedding to use for mimosas when we were getting ready.
I went with her to pick out her wedding dress from
Traditions in North Hills. I was pretty emotional getting her into her dress. She was absolutely stunning and so happy and calm, that I just was so overcome with emotion.
Here's a picture of her and her husband Little T during their reception.
My college friend HJFH got married in December of 2010. She had a private ceremony and a super fun reception in the town where we went to college.
We had the best time getting ready at the country club where she got married.
This picture was pre-ceremony; check out the tornado of clothes and make up in the back ground.
I love this picture of them.
My LA friend got married at Figure 8 Island in September 2011. It was GORGEOUS and the weather was perfect. This was the first wedding DG and I attended together as a
couple and we had the BEST time. It was this wedding that convinced me I probably shouldn't elope no matter how much stress came with a wedding.
Seriously... breathtaking. She got her dress from Traditions too, and I went along for the ride. This dress is so amazingly gorgeous.
LA friend let us pick out our own dresses, which is an idea I adore. We had to wear a knee length black dress, so you can see we all had styles that flattered us. This wedding was seriously so much fun!
I
posted about the most recent wedding I'll be in a couple of weeks ago. LW, HJFH, and I are college buddies who stayed friends after graduating and having really different jobs with really difficult schedules.
ALB's wedding falls on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and I can't wait. Her and her fiance are high school sweethearts who battled a lot of ups and downs. I was there through a lot of them, but they have persevered and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to fill you in on her wedding weekend.
Happy Thursday, y'all!
xoxo
