Five on Friday: It's happening & a Giveaway!

Finally, after many posts, I am having my bridal portraits taken tonight.  I am so excited to be back east with my parents and my best boy, Winston.  I cannot wait to share with you in a couple of months!  My manicure and bouquet turned out gorgeous and I'm dying to share pictures, but I'm holding off.

On Tuesday, I made salmon for dinner.  This may not seem like a huge deal, but it definitely was for me because DG is the second pickiest eater on the face of the Earth.  I marinated my salmon in lemon juice, olive oil, and garlic salt and then grilled it.  But for his, I baked it after topping with onions, sauce, and cheese.  I tasted his and it was SO GOOD.  I'll be making this again.

After seeing this romper on Caitlin's blog, I decided I needed it for Charleston.  That means all my outfits are now taken care of for my bachelorette next weekend!

I've got a playlist picked out for when I'm getting ready today--Pandora's Bachelorette Playlist.  Do you have certain songs you like to listen to while getting ready?  Because I definitely have various playlists for events to help with my mood.  Please say I'm not the only one.

Y'all know this is why I picked it right?

That's right... "No Diggity" was the second song that came on after Queen Bey's "Crazy in Love."  Right.  Go add it to your Pandora list right now.  You're welcome in advance.

I'm a little obsessed with this On a Wire bangle I received Monday!  I can't wait to wear it in Charleston!

Remember how I told you I was contacted about reviewing a book?  So, I read White Gloves and Collards by Helen Pruden Kaufmann.  It's a memoir about growing up in eastern North Carolina during the 1960s.  I loved the book because it was light-hearted, but still touched on a serious topic.  I grew up in eastern North Carolina, and a lot of Helen's stories were really similar to stories that my mom told me about her childhood.  It was a fun read, perfect for reading by the pool or on the beach, and I have a copy to give to one of my readers.  Enter below!

For those of you that are local, Helen's going to be in the area in June.  She'll be in Raleigh at Quail Ridge Books (one of my favorite book stores ever) on June 6 at 7:30PM, Pittsboro at McIntyre's at 11:00AM, and Park Road Books in Charlotte June 9 at 7:00PM.

Hope you have a great weekend!  I am really excitd to recap mine with you Monday!

xoxo,
